Garden Design, Construction and Renovation

Are you looking for a garden with mystery and resonance? We design and install sophisticated gardens that are a rich and diverse mix of perennials, grasses, ferns, and woody plants. Our gardens have a strong framework and balanced, harmonious layers that provide year round interest.

Rock, garden structures, and woody plants represent the primary structural elements, while herbaceous perennials, ferns and ornamental grasses provide constant change from their emergence in spring, through the various flowering periods, to their fall colour and seed heads.

Reconstruction & Refurbishing

Many of our past projects were originally designed by Landscape Architects or other horticultural ‘professionals’ and may (or may not) have good structure. However the original designers or installers may have lacked either the knowledge of, or the access to a diverse variety of plants.

Our main strength lies in evaluating and addressing such deficiencies in order to create an ever changing, four seasons, magical environment.

Vern

This was a difficult city site with steep slopes and a collapsing retaining wall and an ancient maple. Vern was a plant enthusiast  and a long term client of the nursery and one of his main requests was the use of a wide range of interesting plant material. The result was a garden with  strong […]

Skye Manor Project

Green Street

This is an early project that even though a small area has matured to provide warmth and a great deal of structure to match the magnificent stone house. The foliage alone provides a wide range of colour and texture and this is augmented with bloom from early spring to late fall.

Pat and Peter

A beautiful country property that is located on a noisy county road. Pat and Peter were interested in a landscape that would somehow help with that problem. In the front of the property we planted a dense selection of evergreens, trees, shrubs and grasses. Along the side of the house we installed a pond with […]

University Avenue

This project is on a slope on the back of the property away from the house. One of the main priorities was that this garden would be interesting and attractive from the large bedroom windows on the upper floor. To accomplish this we used a wide range of dwarf trees and shrubs underplanted with grasses  […]
